Aztec Marching Band
The 2024 season for the Aztec Marching Band is gearing up! We will be hosting Spring Training workshops for Percussion (Pit/Drumline), Color Guard, and Brass & Woodwinds. These workshops are mandatory if you want to be a part of next fall’s award-winning Marching Band.

Congrats on Regionals!
Congratulations to all 106 Corona Band & Percussion students that participated in the Regional Audition process this past weekend! We are proud of all of your hard work in preparing for these auditions and all your hard work these past several months. Corona Band was honored to have 57 students that successfully auditioned into the West Region Band & Orchestra wind sections and 9 Alternates - the most students from any school in the region! We also had 9 of the highest scores in the Region, and 4 students successfully audition on multiple instruments/voice. Great job Aztecs! Students will receive score sheets, music, and a schedule soon for the Regional Festival to be held February 16-17 at Central HS.

We will meet on Monday Nov 20 at 6:20 am in the Band Room for a post-season meeting (attendance is taken)

State Semifinals
Congratulations to the Aztec Marching Band for earning a new high score of 90.10 and placing 2nd in the State at the Semifinals! The band will be among the “top 8” bands in Division 1 moving into the Arizona State Marching Band Championships on November 18 at Glendale Community College (schedule will be released this week).
State Championships
All events are REQUIRED for Marching Band students. All students are required to take the bus to and from events. However, if there is a situation where a parent needs to drive their student to an event or after an event, please fill out and turn in this form to Mr. DuPlessis one week prior to an event. Students cannot drive themselves to or from any events.

Congrats at BOA California!
The Aztec Marching Band had a great weekend in Southern California at the Bands of America Regional Championship in Riverside, placing sixth in prelims and sixth in finals, with a 4-point jump from prelims to finals. Great job to everyone! Thank you to our parents, staff, drivers, admin, and supporters for making the trip a memorable one. Congrats to our fellow Tempe Union school and AZ representative Desert Vista HS for their strong performance!

Good job at the Williams Field Show!
Congratulations to the Aztec Marching Band on their First Place finish at the Williams Field Invitational on October 21! The band also received the highest scores and caption recognition for Music, General Effect, Color Guard, and Percussion. The band will travel to Southern California next week to compete in the Bands of America Regional Championship next week (scroll down for more info).

Sign-ups for the Marching Band California Trip are now live - click here to sign up. Please do not sign up for more that one room. There are 5 people per room. Please note - sign ups are final and there will be no "switching" rooms after the sign up is complete, so choose wisely!

Congratulations to the Aztec Marching Band on their 1st place finish in Division 1 at the CdS Invitational! The band also got the highest scores and caption awards in Music Performance, General Effect, Visual Performance, and Percussion. Thank you to our Band Boosters and student volunteers who organized and ran a very well-run show - first class all the way! Thanks also to our supportive school administration, security, and custodial, as well as the Tempe Police. The band will next perform at the Homecoming Game on Friday and the Williams Fields Invitational on Saturday (see Event Schedules a few news items below for full schedule).

Congratulations to the Aztec Marching Band on placing 8th out of 23 bands in the Bands of America Regional Championship in Flagstaff, and 10th out of 12 bands in the Finals Competition. We are so proud of our students and their hard work in being one of only four Arizona bands in finals alongside some of the best bands from seven states. Special thanks to all our volunteers who spent a long day with us on Saturday - we appreciate all that you do to support our program. We move onward to hosting our own invitational here at Corona this coming week!
